Re: Grade 8 Violin Pieces

From what I've heard, you and your piano accompanist need to bring along the original copies by ABRSM when you're sitting for your violin exam, and the examiner will take issue should you bring a photocopy or other copies not endorsed or printed by ABRSM.

Re: Donald Francis Tovey

I have read some of the volumes in his "Essays in Musical Analysis", which was an intended to be an introduction to the works as well as being programme notes.

Which is a shame, since I have the full score to his "Carmina Burana" published by Eulenburg (Schott).

Re: A cool Bruckner site

Even if he owns the recordings, aren't these illegal to be posted online for download if the recordings are fairly recent?

Re: Indiana Variations project

I think the main reason they scanned it in such a low resolution is because the scans are primarily for display purposes only and not for printing. Low resolution uses less bandwidth when the pages are loading, although I see no harm in them scanning in high resolution since the scores are public do...

I find the new scheme to be better too. To quote from kongming819: "A sight for sore eyes, so to speak"
Maybe some sort of scheme change every now and then would be desirable, to keep thing fresh, because after a while, this scheme may eventually wear out...
