Domenico Scarlatti Sonatas badly scanned or not scanned

Post by Camreals »

I’m writing a paper on Domenico Scarlatti sonatas. I understand that there are 15 volumes held by the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, Venice, as Mss 9770-9784. Volumes 1, 2, 7 and 11 are properly scanned and can be downloaded from IMSLP. Volumes 3, 5, 6, 10, 12 and 13 are badly scanned, with the music only shown a quarter size. Volumes 4, 8 and 9 are shown as ‘not available for download’. No mention is made of volumes 14 and 15, although volume 14 contains at least 4 sonatas, viz. K.3, K.10, K.12 and K.17. I am asking if anyone, perhaps a researcher working for the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, would be prepared to do a better job of scanning volumes which have been badly scanned or not scanned at all. I would be prepared to make a financial contribution to encourage this work to be done. Richard Bethell
