Public directory not writable?

Hoping this is a temporary problem, but when I try to upload a score, I'm getting "Upload error: The upload directory (public) is not writable by the webserver."

I'm receiving the same error message. Never seen this before...

Dbmiller said they believed it was due to some planned server update, but didn't have any details - just that it would likely be relatively brief.

Hrm. Not gone yet, unless it's a matter of my clearing cache and whatnot and whopangolin.

When I tried publishing (New Edition) just now, I got : "Internal Error" in a box
Then the script hung with a rotation icon by the cursor
2nd attempt seemed to work...
