Re: Oboe Sonata in E-flat major (Platti, Giovanni Benedetto)
to choralia: Yes, you are right: I have found a notice in the documents for MusicXML V2.0 (in file container.dtd): "Starting with Version 2.0, the MusicXML format includes a standard zip compressed version. These zip files can contain multiple MusicXML files as well as other media files for ima...

Re: Oboe Sonata in E-flat major (Platti, Giovanni Benedetto)
Thank you, Choralia and Notenschreiber. for Choralia: yes, this works. After following your procedure I was able to import the XML file in Capella (there were some warnings). This confirms my theory: this was compressed twice - 1st time by a notation editor (the XML file says "Sibelius 7.0.0&qu...

Oboe Sonata in E-flat major (Platti, Giovanni Benedetto)
I have a problem with the "Engraving files (Sibelius and MusicXML)", ref. #305788. If you download this you get a zipped file. After unzipping this you get a directory structure under wich a ".mxl" file appears. This is however not (as the header suggests) a standard MusicXML fil...

Hummel op.122
Why is the title "Rondeau villageoise" instead of "Rondo villageois" as found in the scanned score? "Villageoise" is grammatically wrong - it should be "villageois".

Sammartini: Oboe sonata in Bb (2)
I have found some obvious errors in the continuo part for this sonata. Does someone have a mail address of Dr.Werner Jaksch (who prepared the continuo part) so that I can send him the corrections?

Huguenin op. 30
The scanned original shows Ch. Huguenin as author - the arrangement by A.Höger for 3 guitars shows Ch.Dancla as author.

Re: Ravenscroft / Caldara
Please forget my previous post - I found meanwhile the comments saying that this sonata was previously attributed to Caldara

Ravenscroft / Caldara
The entries #285590 - #285593 show author "Ravenscroft" in the title - the contents are however by Caldara - this ist probably an error or a very subtile joke.

Besozzi or Graun?
I found today a new scan of a flute sonata by Graun: IMSLP112867-PMLP230408-graun_kh_fl_sonata_C.pdf. This is a manuscript/autograph scan. When looking at the first two movements (I didn't inspect the other movements) I remarked that this sonata is identical with an oboe sonata by Alessandro Besozzi...
