Monuments/Urtext query

Would the two volumes of the Flores de Musica of Manuel Rodrigues Coelho as published in the monumental series Portugaliae Musica qualify for upload, perhaps as an urtext edition? The two volumes were issued in 1959 and 1961 and were edited by Macário Santiago Kastner (1908-1992). If so, would the (...

Re: Violin capricci by William Herschel

Dear friends, I have been searching very unsuccessfully for a score of the 24 violin capricci and sonata for solo violin by Sir William Herschel (the famous astronomer). Does anyone out there have any idea where I might find these? with grateful thanks for any tips, Tom4103 Have they been published...

Re: Sir Henry Wood - Fantasia on British Sea Songs

Was there a published edition before the 1944 Chappell issue arranged by George Zalva? I see nothing in Worldcat earlier than that. Zalva seems to have flourished in the 1930's and 40's. I can't find dates for him--his work may not yet be allowed.

Re: Poulenc Organ Concerto, FP 93

We have allowed the Cello Sonata to be added to IMSLP with a similar situation and notice:

La partie de Violoncelle a été établie par l'auteur en collaboration avec Pierre Fournier
(Pierre Fournier, 1906-1986)

Is it safe to allow the Organ Concerto as well?

Re: Poulenc Organ Concerto, FP 93

This latest sort of changes the 'color' of the beast. If Poulenc put the registrations in at the suggestion of Durufle, the registrations are still Poulenc's - at least from a copyright standpoint - since it was Poulenc, not Durufle, who wrote them into the fair copy or publication proofs. How does...

Daniel Agramonte wrote:I would say that this piece is probably the most major work by Sibelius that is not on IMSLP, it would be great if someone found a copy and uploaded it.
I don't believe it was published before the 2006 issue by Breitkopf & Härtel.

Series General Editors

I have a question about Series General Editors. I've come across a few items that I would like to submit, but they are included in series that had editors who have died less than 50 years ago. For example: I just uploaded a copy of George Dyson's Te Deum and Benedictus - an OUP publication copyright...

Re: Mary Howe

You'll have to remove the bio. I doubt Strickland's general editorship would have resulted in any significant original additions to Howe's work. Probably will be free in 50-pma countries only, but Gray was not always on top of renewals. Ineligible for NIE restoration as the 'country of origin' is t...
