Hi Sallen,
Thanks for your reply. That's also what I would have thought!

Microfilm
Hi all, Are there any special copyright rules which apply to microfilm/microform, or does it only depend on the actual material contained in the scans? I saw recently on some microforms of 18th century manuscripts something like 'any unauthorised reproduction of this material is against the law'. I ...

Re: Authorship of 'Vanhal' symphonies Opp. 23 & 25
Hi Peedur, You might be interested to see some of the RISM entries for these individual symphonies which also exist in manuscript form. I did incipit searches of only the first movements of most of them - I'm sure there would be more to see if you searched every movement. It looks like Op.23 was als...

Re: Advertisements
Here is a screenshot of Boccherini Op.1, violin 2 part. The file also displays sideways with the ad. EDIT: and if you click on the ad, you will be taken to https://www.researchgate.net/publication/289585265_Towards_the_bio-personalization_of_music_recommendation_systems_A_single-sensor_EEG_biomarker...

Re: Advertisements
Yes, I also get that one. I am also with firefox. Maybe one in 6 downloads has an advertisement - there seemed to be more yesterday. I realised jsut now that if you scroll down using the scroll bar on the far right, you can bury it under the tabs at the top of the page, out of sight.

Is IMSLP putting these ads for the university of Thessaloniki at the top of files? I don't have a problem with the ads being there to begin with, but once I've read them and decided I am not interested in their topic, I'd like to get rid of them. Is there a way to do that? They are in the way when t...
Re: Exile
A few ideas(probably you already thought about them) : Bartók, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Martinů, Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Hindemith. Does fleeing your homeland for fear of persecution count as exile? Probably some of those would fall into that category rather than forced exile. There are some early on...

Re: Upcoming changes
The admins had nothing to do with these changes.I waited a few months to see if the public uproar would get the Petrucci LLC admins to back off.

Re: Upcoming changes
This is not something I knew about either. I couldn't find information about the Board of Managers anywhere on the site. Could someone point me to the relevant information? I'd like to know when the Board of Managers was founded and who is on the Board.

Re: Upcoming changes
Even if the 15 second delay was removed, these scans attract many potential donors to the site don't they? I think one could argue that they are still being used for monetary gain.I believe this category of scans should be accessible without the 15-s delay.

Re: Request to add in Sub Musical Genres (or styles) in Time Period
I think Rococo is the same as Galante - Late baroque introducing classical elements.
I think it's a good system, I just wasn't sure how that one problem would be solved. Probably with lots of discussion do you think?

Re: Request to add in Sub Musical Genres (or styles) in Time Period
:? I feel like I've missed a few vital points here, so I have a few questions. Am I right in thinking that these new categories will be applied to individual work pages and NOT to composer pages? If so, will there be a way of "batch editing" the works of 99% of composers whose style remain...

Re: Request to add in Sub Musical Genres (or styles) in Time Period
Other late baroque styles could be "Galante" and "Empfindsamer Stil", or would these be covered by "Rococo"?. I see them as quite opposite movements with Galante being simplification of the Baroque style in preparation for the classical. The Empfindsamer style I see as ...

"Scores and Parts"
Perhaps this has been discussed already - please forgive me if it has. Would it be a good idea to add the option "Scores and Parts" to the "Add Sheet Music" pop-up box? At the moment there is only Scores, Parts, Arrangements and Transcriptions, and Other to choose from. I would o...
