IMSLP main page
Back in the old days www.imslp.org would take you to the main page immediately. Today it first takes you to a wierd, messy page containing 7 different links, one of them being the link you have to click to move on to the real IMSLP page. A lot of space is spent telling people that IMSLP has reopened...

Are there any clever people out there who could make a flyer in the form of a .pdf file that we can print out ourselves and distribute? (the smaller, the more economical - e.g. 4 copies per A4 page) At my university I plan on using A4 sheets for the pin-up boards and A7 for flyers that people can t...

PR strategies for IMSLP
I think IMSLP is a great resource and would like to make it availble to many more people than those who know it today. What can we do to make IMSLP more widely known? If you have any ideas, please share. I think all (classical) music teachers and students musicians can benefit from IMSLP. Once teach...

A lot of pop/jazz music composed by amateurs can be found on sites like YouTube and Jamendo. Recording and uploading this music takes some effort, and to me there's not a long way from that to recording it in e.g. Sibelius and printing it to a PDF file (using a digital piano and a PDF printer like C...

What music belongs on IMSLP?
So far IMSLP has mainly contained classical compositions written by professional musicians. Thus I tend to think of it as a classical music score library. But is that what it's intended to be? I've noticed a few people uploading their own compositions to IMSLP lately, and I really like the idea that...

My troll detector is beeping, but I'll bite anyway: Chill, dude. If you wanna mouth your humor and be provocative, you must be prepared to take the humor people throw back at you. After all, you're the one who basically labelled us as old fashioned ultra conservative jargon haters who can't keep up ...

I give up. I can't figure out what it is. It appears to be the 5th track of some cd. The length is 7:53 if it hasn't been edited. If only there were a way to search for these criteria inside a CDDB database... I managed to find two such cds on Google, one with Schumann's 3rd sonata and one with a co...

That said, does anyone think it would be preferable to have empty composer pages for well-known composers that are copyright, with biographical information and a date when they will become PD? Just an idea. It might be. I guess it would save us some time here in the forum. It would also make IMSLP ...
