Re: Naxos Music Library
I think your sentiments would be more effective if you can direct them at Naxos. They are the ones who disregarded the contract and terminated NML access, and they are the ones who can restore access if they so choose. I have no sympathy for you, sorry, Edward. Remember the time, without consulting...

Re: Upcoming changes
The entire situation still makes no logical sense. It is a terrible decision that goes completely against the spirit of IMSLP and the opinions of contributors. It is quite clear, though, that Guo now has little respect for this. I will be looking first to hire someone to work on the administrative a...

Re: Upcoming changes
I have found the same thing! Logged out, I get this message when trying to download Brüll's cadenzas for Beethoven's fourth piano concerto: 'This is a newly submitted file that is available to members only.' Will the banner, which claims that 'all scores' are 'still available for free to non-subscri...

Re: Upcoming changes
How would contributors feel about moving to a website hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit and charitable organisation that runs Wikipedia? I have been told this might be a possibility for us.

Re: Upcoming changes
I have had a little more time to reflect on these changes, but have found myself only more frustrated and disappointed. I produced my scans so as to benefit the project, whose sole focus was to help music lovers. I wanted to make these scores available for musicians around the world without any rest...

Re: Upcoming changes
The changes in the business structure above are hugely concerning, if I am honest. Why would I want to donate to a commercial organisation with paid employees? I feel extremely uncomfortable that my hundreds of previous scans are no longer there for the joy of musicians, but part of a business asset...

Re: Upcoming changes
Thank you for your detailed response. I am still concerned, though, that you do not recognise just how much these changes will damage the website for users at the expense of IMSLP's reputation. You wrote that your previous approach to IMSLP was disrespectful to the music world. I beg to disagree. Th...

Re: Upcoming changes
I have used IMSLP for many years, and, in the past, also made significant contributions to the website. I am deeply troubled by these changes. We all recognise IMSLP requires funding to maintain the servers, and also recognise both how important the website is for musicians, and how respected it is ...
