A new digital library: Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Just a week ago, the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany launched a digital library featuring assets from 9 libraries, 11 archives and 4 museums/collections. One of those libraries is the Landesbibliothek Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin, which holds manuscripts for a lot of the Viennese do...

Re: Wrong composer's work on the workpage

Link to the work page for reference: http://imslp.org/wiki/Ma%C3%AFmouna_(B%C3%A9on,_Alexandre) The publication credits 'Madame Tiny Béon' and one other person for the ballet. It could be two different Tiny Béons, although neither 'Tiny' nor 'Béon' seems like a German name, and I'd be very surprised...

Re: Issues with Bottesini work pages

In order to not be classified here as an arrangement (and transposition), the "Concertino" really must have some significant structural differences with the Concerto. Musicologists who create separate catalog numbers for arrangements and transpositions of the same work (Liszt, for example...

Issues with Bottesini work pages

I'm listing some issues with this double bass idol which I don't think I can tackle: Concerto No.2 in B minor : The manuscript (#350086) on this page is not a transposition of the concerto, but is actually the Concertino in C minor . To be fair, the concertino is basically a transposition and an arr...

Re: Uploading to a specific instrumentation page

Don't mess the with tagging please on the page, we have a Category tagger expert who comes around and adds this into the page and know the system. Right, my apologies; I thought tagging was left up to the individual contributors. In any case, the tags are now fixed thanks to Steltz ( [1] ). Also it...

This is already on IMSLP, but the scan isn't as good:

Re: Uploading to a specific instrumentation page

I managed to get the page added to the "for 3 trombones (arr.)" category. It involves using a specific section header as described here: http://imslp.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Genres/Arrangements The section header really looks superfluous on the page, and it needed to be at a specific header lev...

Re: Want to upload edition: problem associating with my 'Category' page

One little suggestion: you used the field |Extra Information= to link from your composer page to your user page, but there is a dedicated field for that, namely |IMSLP Contributor=Rutger, in case you might prefer that ;)

Re: Choosing a license (HELP!!)

Assuming this is about the trombone arrangements... You probably selected "Add Scan", but that option is for scans of existing editions (which have to be public domain to be allowed on the site, hence that being the only option). What you would normally do is select "New arrangement&q...

Re: Uploading to a specific instrumentation page

I think I found your composer page: http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Reifsnyder,_Bob Your arrangement is called Baroque Bone Squad Collection and arranges a set of Bach cantatas for three trombones. Usually an arrangement would go on the page of the original work, but not if it involves multiple works...

Re: Feature request: allow posting of CSV index files on wiki

This seems identical (aside from information on the key) to bookmarks/outlines in PDF documents, which I think are more useful overall. Maybe the CSV can be used to automatically add PDF bookmarks? I sometimes do this manually with scores on IMSLP.

Now that Google's robots have come and updated the composer pages, everything looks good. Thanks a lot for the edits and for the tip.

I figured out how to fix issue 3, but I'm pretty sure the other two are beyond my control.

Three work page issues related to categorization

I assume this is the correct forum to report these... 1. This piece, which contains arrangements of three works by Guillaume de Machaut, is categorized under Machaut/Arrangements, when it should be Machaut/Collections (if I understand the rules correctly): http://imslp.org/wiki/Machaut_Set_(Machaut,...

Re: Forgot to upload engraving files

This has been resolved; I added my engraving files as a new edition, then edited the page to move it to my existing edition. It has since been cleared for download.
