Duplicate of librettist Arthur J. Jackson
I've learnt information about Arthur J. Jackson who contributed lyrics to a few Gershwin compositions from the musical La La Lucille before dying in 1922 aged 29. I added this new information to his entry here: https://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Jackson,_Arthur This included his birth and death dates, ...

Re: Gershwin, Rhapsody in Blue
For Rhapsody in Blue's IMSLP entry it states at the top of the page Any of the orchestrations by Ferde Grofé (d.1972) cannot be uploaded here as they are all under copyright worldwide I can understand that Grofé's 1942 orchestration for full orchestra of Rhapsody in Blue remains under copyright, but...

Re: Gershwin, Walking the Dog (Promenade)
On Thursday 22nd December 2022, I uploaded an engraving of Walking the Dog (Promenade) to MuseScore.com But by the next morning it had been taken down by request of Publisher Alfred Music Publishing. The link to my upload now yields nothing: https://musescore.com/user/58480/scores/9253486 although I...

Re: Albert Ammons
Swanee River Boogie was created by Hattie Young who I think I've learned died c.1955. The sheet music for Swanee River Boogie gives a copyright date of 1947 so it's not yet in the public domain.

Re: Jerome Kern
I assume that Jerome Kern's (1885-1945) solo compositions would now be in the public domain in the EU. Following the example of Gershwin's The Man I Love piano solo arrangement would, for example, piano solo arrangements of his songs which excluded the lyrics written by others be acceptable on the I...

Re: Rule of the Shorter Term for non-EU works
I was trying to say that the transcription of her performance of the piece does not credit her BUT I was wrong - it states Written by George Botsford and Winifred Atwell . But nevertheless it declares © Copyright 1911 Remick Music Corporation, USA. at the bottom. If this transcription was done posth...

Re: Jelly Roll Blues editions
Eric Kriss' work on Jelly Roll Blues is his own 1974 transcription. To quote him from page 6 of Barrelhouse & Boogie piano by Eric Kriss Finally a word about the twenty-two transcriptions. Every attempt has been made to faithfully duplicate the original music on record within the limited boundar...

Jelly Roll Blues editions
I have recently uploaded a typeset version of the Jelly Roll Blues that faithfully matches the scanned sheet music for the piece on IMSLP http://imslp.org/wiki/Original_Jelly_Roll_Blues_%28Morton,_Jelly_Roll%29 No copyright issues here. But I also have two other scanned and typeset (by Me) editions ...

Rule of the Shorter Term for non-EU works
I've got two questions about the Black and White Rag by George Botsford http://imslp.org/wiki/Black_and_White_Rag_%28Botsford,_George%29 1. As I am in the EU (the UK) must I wait until 1st January 2020 when Botsford has been dead for 70 years before I can upload a typeset version of the this piece? ...

Re: Gershwin - some pointers
The year 2011 is just the date that the amendment was made. Since that date one assumes that some sheet music in the EU has gone from PD back into copyright to comply with the amendment. Is The Man I Love piano solo by George Gershwin valid as PD in the EU after all? I know the piece has been on the...

Re: Gershwin - some pointers
An article written in 2015 on the UK-based site scoreexchange.com http://www.scoreexchange.com/help/notable-copyright-issues#george-gershwin goes into detail about the issues, including the lack of absolute clarity, in the EU especially since the Amendments in 2011 to the EU copyright directive (200...

I've created a typeset version of Jupiter for 2 pianos from Holst's Planets suite to match the sheet music available here http://imslp.org/wiki/The_Planets,_Op.32_%28Holst,_Gustav%29#For_2_Pianos_.28Composer.29 I would love to upload my engraving. IMSLP Email confirmation
I can't get my email confirmed on the IMSLP site.
But how do I get anyone to look into this??
There are no contact email address for site issues. I cannot contact anyone on the contributors list as my email address is not confirmed.
My IMSLP account appears to be broken but I cannot tell anyone
