Re: Can I post this song without the English lyrics?

What's the publication information — composer, librettist, translator, publisher/location? Even if it is only PD-US in 2026, there is a good chance that the copyright in the piece itself, but also especially the translation, was subject to renewal and not renewed. Many, many items published between ...

Re: Copyright status

Just see...

https://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP:Copyright_Made_Simple

and

https://imslp.org/wiki/Public_domain

You really mostly just need to know (1) when the author(s) died and/or (2) when the item was published.

Yes; all composers who died over 50 years ago should be unlocked in due course. I'll unlock these two for you so you can add work pages and made PML-Asia uploads.

PML-Asia (Taiwan) launched

I'm pleased to inform you that Petrucci Music Library Asia (PML-Asia), based in Taiwan, has launched, and that its listings are now integrated into IMSLP. Taiwanese copyright law is now covered on the public domain page . Much like PML-US, PML-Asia should only be used for files that cannot go on the...

Re: [FEAT] Standard field for page size and resolution of any scan

This is wrongheaded. There should be only one version of any file under ordinary circumstances. It should be a good, clean scan. The page sizes should be consistent and match the medium for which the score was designed, with margins that make sense. (The pages can be scaled and WILL be scaled by any...

Re: Terrible user-submitted parts

We don't delete files due to authors requesting to have them removed because they regret submitting them and want to revoke a license. We have the right and ability to remove files if they are useless garbage. There is a difference.

Copyright assignment (i.e., transfer of copyright) is not relevant to determining status.

Re: Problems with Johann Christoph Bach (1671-1721) data

The disambiguation tag can use any string. In a case like this, the category name should be something like, instead of Bach, Johann Christoph , Bach, Johann Christoph @Ohrdruf^ or similar. The @ and ^ mark the disambiguation tag. This is entered in LinkPerson templates as value 5 (e.g., {{LinkDed|Jo...

Re: Saverio Mercadante Flute Concerto in e-minor

Even if first published in 1973, the piece itself cannot be copyrighted in the United States unless that publication was made under the authority of Mercadante's heirs. Of course, the piece may have been published earlier (per the legal definition of publication). I don't know off the top of my head...

They should be separate files, one file corresponding to each physical part, in the standard order: https://imslp.org/wiki/Template:Standar ... tral_Order
