Re: Prokofiev, Peter and the Wolf parts

The original has over 6 pages of errata, so alternatively there is Edition Zeza's new revision of Peter and the Wolf, http://www.sheetmusicx.com/products/Pro ... estra.html

Re: New recordings of PD music in different countries

So if the piece is not PD, but the sheet music is readily available (publishers often sell Piano Sonatas but put orchestral material for hire), you still need to pay a rental fee, and a session fee to record it?

New recordings of PD music in different countries

- Stravinsky's Symphony No.1 is PD in the US but not in Canada/EU. If it were to be recorded in a different country but distributed only in the US, would the orchestra need a license from the publisher or would it enjoy the PD status? - If a publisher sells a piece that can be used in performances (...

Respighi Trittico Botticelliano - missing page

There is a page missing for Respighi's Trittico Botticelliano, page 123 (or "62" of the PDF file). Does anyone have the complete work?

Does anyone have this score? It should be PD in Canada by now.

Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet / Villa-Lobos Bachianas No.5

Hi, I'm having some trouble finding the copyright status for Romeo and Juliet Op.64bis (First Suite) and Op.64ter (Second Suite). Are there 2 scores entirely PD in Canada or only some movements? Also, the Bachianas Brasileiras No.5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdXXQBd--4M was originally written fo...

Meaning of :2 d1, 0, 2, 2 - 2, 0, 0, 0, strings." in sets?

Can anyone please explain how to translate the numbers given with "set of parts" when you buy sheet music? Usually they have stuff like "For 2 d1, 0, 2, 2 - 2, 0, 0, 0, strings.", what are the rules for creating those numbers? Sometimes I even see numbers like 12, -12, it just lo...

Re: Music publishers in Canada?

That is interesting. Out of curiosity I went to check on both Amazon.com and Amazon.de (Germany) for the Dover Edition of Stravinsky. And according to what you just said, it shouldn't be available in other countries with long PD status, but the Stravinsky pieces are available in the German version t...

Music publishers in Canada?

Since the PD in Canada is shorter than the other countries, why aren't there more music publishing houses in Canada than in the other countries, or am I missing something? Let's say that a piece just became PD in Canada (20 years to go for the US). Instead of waiting 20 years to make reprints and re...

Harpsichord part for Bach's Double Concerto BWV 1043

Perlnerd666 did a great with posting the Orchestra parts for the Violin Concertos BWV 1041 and 1042. I wonder if someone else has the Orchestra parts for the 1043, in particular the Harpsichord part.
I'd be very grateful!

Vivaldi Mandolin Concertos / Strings Concerto RV127

Could someone please post the Concerto for Strings in D minor RV 127? I would also like to ask if someone can add the mandolin concertos:
- Concerto in G Major for 2 mandolins and orchestra
- Concerto in D major for mandolin and orchestra

Thanks in advance, I'll keep an eye here.

Hum I get the point, thanks for the answers.

Edit: And since we are at it, in order to clear the issue, if I make a transcription of a PD work , for commercial purposes, is that ok?

Publishing transcriptions of non-PD works

I have a question and I will give an example so it's easier to be understood. Let's say that I want to make an arrangement from some work of A. Piazzolla. I buy the original Score, then make the transcription to let's say Organ, or an Orchestra. Would I then be able to sell this transcription? Or am...
