I checked Ray Alston's contribution history, and he is still actively creating new Piano Practical Editions. Depending on the situation, I either use imagemagick (https://imagemagick.org) or libvips (https://www.libvips.org/) to do both the scaling and sharpening operations.

It's been ages since I've used IrfanView, so I don't know if it has any sharpening options available.

Daphnis, I think I see the issue: "IsLocked=No" does not unlock the category, but "IsLocked=" (with a blank value) does unlock.

(At least, that's what I've seen others do for composer categories for earlier PD-US workpage requests.)
