Re: Anchors

This does not seem to work for wikilinks within IMSLP. Is there any way to get it to work in that case, other than linking to subsection headings? Or can one format the link like an external link?

Re: File pages

I guess I never tried this, and you're right they won't be all that helpful. I think the links you suggested in my other post may be the best solution for linking from the Wikipedia. Thanks again for the help. Robert

Re: Anchors

Now I see. If I had followed your link I would have seen how it works (Sorry, for jumping to the wrong conclusion!). I think this will do very well. Thanks for all the help and feedback. Robert

File pages

Perhaps this question has been addressed previously, but in a quick and dirty search of the forums, I did not find it. There do not seem to be any file pages at IMSLP. I'm thinking of pages like those on Wikimedia Commons, where information specific to each uploaded file, as well as copyright inform...

Re: Anchors

Thanks for the suggestion. The main problem with this approach is that direct links to the pdf files does not allow for the addition of new or more complete scans of specific publications, or access to the descriptive information about the source of a particular scan, the publication data (bibliogra...

Anchors

Is there a way to create a permanent link target to a particular publication on a work page? I would like to link from the Wikipedia to a particular Busoni publication which (because it is an arrangement) now appears on a work page with a very large number of other publications. Section titles tend ...

Re: Audio Files (Performances)

I am strongly opposed to the current practice of putting audio files for download at the top of the work pages. The primary objective of IMSLP is to provide downloadable copies of scores which are in the public domain. Putting donated audio files at the top of the work pages changes the site to an a...

Sorry I should have checked first. Looks like someone already took care of it.

Re: Busoni edition of Bach's WTC1

Obviously it's somewhat subjective, but it seemed important enough to me to create the work page in the Busoni category. I would be grateful if they do not get deleted. Regarding the Bach WTC work pages, perhaps they should be reduced to two, one for WTC1 and one for WTC2. Then the Busoni editions c...

Re: Busoni edition of Bach's WTC1

Hi Lyle, There are a great deal of performance suggestions, practice pieces, and musical analysis in the Busoni edition of WTC1 which is Busoni's contribution, so it clearly belongs in the Busoni category. There are also (1) a very long section on the art of transcribing organ works for piano and (2...

Re: New work page

Maybe it would be easiest to follow the suggestion of making the background color lighter so that links and dark text show up. (More like the top band for the files. I don't have any trouble seeing the blue links on those.) Robert

New work page

The recent version of the work page has added a background color to the "Work title" and "Alternative title" fields in the "General Information" section. On some rare pages, eg http://imslp.org/wiki/Transcriptions_-_Mozart:_Andantino_from_Piano_Concerto_No.9_(K.271),_BV...

Re: Busoni Catalog Prefix

Hi Konrad, It seems both prefixes "BV" and "KiV" are used a lot. Since changing from one to the other on the many web pages at IMSLP ("KiV") or the English Wikipedia ("BV") involves a lot of difficult and error prone editing, and is perhaps not a very fruitful...

Re: Haydn Symphonies

Per daphnis' request I am planning to upload all the symphonies from this set regardless of U.S. status.

Question: should I create new pages for Nos. 13-18, or add them to the existing page? (There is already a single page for these 6 symphonies, which were apparently together in one file.)
