Re: Giacomo Puccini's Requiem

Hi, I contacted the prof. Michele Girardi of the Centro Studi G. Puccini (who also edited the Requiem for Carus Verlag). He confirmed that the piece was first published by Spada. On the manuscript (at the Conservatory of Milan) there is no copyright since 1994. At least in Italy and/or Europe. For t...

Re: Respighi - Violin Concerto (Concerto all'Antica)

Hi, i believe it is also published by Editioni Bongiovanni. I found in their catalog http://www.bongiovanni70.com/ a "Concerto in A major". I think it is a mistake of the seller. The concerto all'antica is in A minor and I am not aware if any other concerto in for Violin in A major written...

Luigi Bottazzo, Oreste Ravanello and the Caecilian Movement

Hi all, I looking for scores by Luigi Bottazzo and Oreste Ravanello. Both were tied with the Caecilian Movement that at the end of the 19th C. tried to give new impulse to the sacred music. Both wrote several masses, motets and organ pieces. Most of the works were published by Bertarelli, Musica Sac...

Piano Anthology "Il mio primo ..."

Hi all, I uploaded 2 vols from the piano serie "Il mio primo ..." a collection of easy pieces of important classical composers edited by Ettore Pozzoli. I haven't found any copyright renewal in the US Copyright DB. However they have been marked as Non-PD Europe and Non-PD US Pozzoli died i...

Re: Heinrich biber

Hi, they say Australia is the best place to live... probably this is an effect. Italy, (I grew up and studied in Venice) has large libraries but the access is so difficult. Same for Spain, Greece and partially for France. Recently I moved to Germany. Here the situation is really good. One can have a...

Re: Heinrich biber

Hi Philip, thank for the valuable info. I ll search for them. Next scan will be the FestiveMesse (formerly attr. to Benevoli). Ballets and other works in DTOe will not be available for long. :--(. I need to solve some problems with the size of the pages. The Dto score is almost unreadable. I am very...

Re: easy short pieces for piano

Hi all, interesting posting. I don't think classical (I assume in the generic meaning) composers weren't kind with beginners. If one start to list them will write several pages. Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Clementi, etc. Early 1900 composers wrote a lot for kids or beginners (Hindemith, Bartok, Villa-Lo...
