The only piece by Mahler that I find overdone is his First Symphony, which is programmed by nearly every orchestra. I don't find it satisfying to listen to, and I feel it is one of his least inspired works. His Seventh and Adagio from No. 10 I find are not played enough, and they really are fantast...

There can, of course, be no sane, rational doubt that the greatest composer ever was anyone but Dmitri Dmitrievich Shostakovich. In addition, Mahler's Second, Third, Eighth... and maybe even.
Oh, and the last two minutes of Brahms' First Symphony.

Of course, this is changing each and every moment. 1. Every Mahler work 2. Beethoven's 9th, 6th, and 3rd Symphonies 3. Franck's Symphony in D minor 4. Beethoven's Les Adieux Piano Sonata 5. Shostakovich's 4th, 5th, and 7th Symphonies Yes, I know this is a very strange list. These came to mind first....

I would love more Mahler orchestral scores such as the 3rd, 4th, and 7th....all of them would be nice. Also, is it really going to be years and years before some of the scores are unblocked?
