Re: W. A. Sowinski, Piano Concerto op. 36 in E-flat Major

I would be inclined to send them an e mail. I did last year, and they kindly digitalised the score and e mailed it to me free of charge. Since it has already been digitalised, I expect they would not have a problem in doing the same for you. Some libraries can be funny when it comes to their holding...

Re: Cyril Scott - Piano Concerto No. 1

I have already scanned it old chap, but it is not very good as I did it 5 years ago when I was not very good a scanning. If I uploaded it here, I would be breaking the Copyright laws of my own Country, so perhaps it would be best if you scanned yours. It is bound to look a damned sight better than m...

Re: Cyril Scott - Piano Concerto No. 1

I have an original of this score and indeed it is copyright 1922 and published by Schott. Appears to be out of print, but the full score is still available for hire. If you want the 2 piano score, Schotts provide an out of print service if you have the edition number, which in this case is ED1858. C...

This work was still in print about a year ago when I bought it from Musigramma.

Seems to still be available for 30 Euros which is not exactly horrendous.

I am a big Mustek fan.

Had one for 5 years, scanned 35,000 pages and it is still going strong.

Re: Greef, Arthur de - Piano Concerto 1&2

The CPS has a 2 piano version of the 1st concerto, so I will scan it eventually if I can find it. This was a special order via Schott when the work was still in copyright. Now that it is not, no doubt it would be cheaper to obtain a copy from any library that may have it. Would appreciate a link to ...

Re: IMSLP under attack by Music Publishers Association (UK)

cross-posted, but: this isn't a publisher suing-- this is the Music Publishers' Association of the UK, a trade group that has no business in publishing living composers. Not my area of expertise Sir, but the following was taken from the MPA e mail: "The information in this notification is accu...

Re: Fleisher Collection

I have had two requests turned down, but eventually I managed to find what i wanted somewhere else. Their stance seems a little strange to me as it might actually hinder works being performed, since it does not allow keen amatuers to view scores and send those they deem worthy of recording to perfor...

This was was scanned by Duncan and uploaded to Pianophilia many years ago.

I have therefore attempted my first ever IMSLP upload.

All of the Cramer Concertos were scored in a similar fashion and I am not aware of any modern Editions for 2 piano format.

Re: Cambridge University Attendees---IMSLP needs your help!

UK libraries do tend to have a rather strange attitude towards digitalisation of their holdings and all of the libraries i have dealt with contain some sort of declaration that use of copies provided are for private study only. Saying that, obtaining copies from Cambridge University is remarkably ch...

Re: Saint-Saëns piece, "König Harald Harfagar", Op. 59

I am used to dealing with many UK libraries and the declaration you have to sign is pretty standard. The British Library claims copyright on all of their holdings, no matter how long the composer has been dead. When you complete their order form, you have to declare that you will not make copies. Wi...

Re: Saint-Saëns piece, "König Harald Harfagar", Op. 59

This score is held at the British Library and Royal Academy of Music, both of which have excellent but expensive document supply services.

Many libraries (including the above) strictly forbid the copying of their holdings, which i guess is why your contact is reluctant to post.

Re: Joseph Wolfl

Well, I am glad to see i am not the only one who plays and enjoys this composer. Every now and again, one comes across a composer and is puzzled as to why his works are rarely if at all played. Thankfully, some of the sonatas, trios, concertos and symphonies have now been recorded, but it amounts to...
