Re: Sibley File Too Large

Please note that Sibley's copy that was posted to URResearch includes additions and corrections in the hand of the composer; the page preceding first page of score also has an inscription: Alla cara famiglia // Aliverti // Ricordo affettuoso // di // Carlo Carignani // Brunate 6 Luglio 911 [i.e.1911...

Re: Krommer & Barriere Op.20 String Quartets

If you could send me the URResearch.rochester.edu url for the errant set of parts I'll see if we have the correct part. The files might have been mis-labeled when they were created. Sorry for the confusion

Re: A couple of piano score requests

For the Czerny fans out there, we've just posted another 38 scores from our Special Collections. Our metadata for these is not as robust, as we are using the Finding Aid for the Czerny Collection for our records. We have another 15 or so to digitize, and hope to have them up in the next week or two....

Sorry for being late to the discussion, but I just now saw this. Has it been taken care of?

Re: Mozart String Quartet K387 - Better Score?

You can get access to the score in the Neue Mozart Ausgabe by going to http://www.nma.at/. Search using the KV number.

I gather this is somewhat different than the 1908 edition we digitized (http://hdl.handle.net/1802/19150)?

Re: von Call String Qt No.2 Viola Part

The other library supplied me with what I think is the correct part. The plate number format at the bottom looks different than our copy, but it looks to at least be the right work now. Our url is http://hdl.handle.net/1802/21560.

Re: von Call String Qt No.2 Viola Part

It looks like the problem stems back to March 4, 1952 when the piece was accessioned by us. My guess is that the dealer sent the wrong viola part, and it was never caught until now. I'm trying to get the part from the other library that owns a copy of this. I'll let you know if I'm successful.

Re: von Call String Qt No.2 Viola Part

I'll check with our special collections department to see what happened. We have 3 of his quartets digitized, so perhaps something happened with the file naming.

Re: Why there's always been so few operas?

Assuming you are talking about full scores (not vocal scores), they just weren't published in great numbers. For example, at Sibley we have about 24 shelves of full scores in our open stacks, whereas we have well over a hundred shelves of opera vocal scores. For us a full score of an isn't any more ...

Re: Appeal for Help with Sibley Project

My colleagues at UR outside of Sibley have not chosen to systematically digitize their PD works. Much of that material, given the nature of their collection, is available through Google Books. There are still any number of things in Sibley's collections that we were not able to get to as part of the...

Re: Remenyi's Violin Concerto

We have none of his scores, just a couple of books about him: Edouard Remenyi, musician, litterateur, and man; an appreciation, with sketches of his life and artistic career, by friends and contemporaries, to which are added critical reviews of his playing and selections from his literary papers and...

Re: Duvernoy Deux Morceaux, Op 41

This work is available in a recent publication, Flute solos from the Paris Conservatory, 1850-1920 edited by Martha Rearick (Falls House Press, 2006). Surely it will be available from Flute World.
