Re: Updated Licensing Policy and Guidelines
Two days ago I made a correction to a previously uploaded score and parts (Marco Uccelini, Aria sopra la Bergamasca), and I've been informed this won't be allowed because of my licensing. I do not intend to ever upload anything else here, but I have continued to make corrections to pieces uploaded i...

Re: Updated Licensing Policy and Guidelines
I understand the arguments. I contribute to Wikipedia and other sources with a CC SA license. I write open-source code, and my favorite software licenses are BSD or Apache. License arguments are a famous holy war. But I'm committed to my music work being non-commercial. I embrace that myself: I've r...

Re: Updated Licensing Policy and Guidelines
I've contributed quite a bit to IMSLP over the years, and I've been happy to do so, but if I can't redistribute my work with a license that prevents commercial copying, I simply will not upload anything here again.

Re: Lost works you would most like to hear or find the score
"But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know." Former U.S. Sec. of Defense Ronald Rumsfeld. It's the things that are lost that we know little or nothing about that intrigue me. Pre-15th century secular music we know very little amount, apart from a f...

Yep, just hit that myself. The TCP connection seems to be dropping before any headers are returned when you submit.

Re: Using the IMSLP to Locate Rare Copies of Music
I am very interested in the 19th century French pianist and composer, Henri Bertini. Pascal Beyls has gone around to the obvious libraries (BnF, Conservatoire de Paris, Bibliothèque royale de Belgique etc) and listed their possessions in his book. There are likely other extant copies, but it is dif...

Re: Symbol at the end of Harmonice Musices Odhecaton?
Other people explained the meaning of the initials, but not what it actually is: the symbol is the publisher's colophon, and above it is printed the right of privilege granted by the republic of Venice. Most of Petrucci's books have them at the end, though the last couple omit it. Here are pics of t...

Re: BSB Copyright Claims Removal
From BSB [...] I found http://imslp.org/wiki/University_of_Munich_MSS_328-331_partbooks_%28Various%29#IMSLP277765 Is "Univ. Munich" the same as BSB? Then the scanner is BSB (with template {{BSB}} ). Otherwise could you please provide the link of Univ. Munich? They're different places. BSB...

Re: BSB Copyright Claims Removal
From BSB, I prefer grabbing the image files for collection, and separating them by partbooks (not relevant to all things, but most non-lute and non-keyboard collections of the 16c are in partbooks). Here are a couple bash/ksh scripts to help you, if you want: http://plover.net/~agarvin/bsb-grab.txt ...
