Re: Improving low resolution images downloaded from some librari

="Piupianissimo"]OK, perhaps a bit late but I am ready! I was out of town too! http://levysheetmusic.mse.jhu.edu/levy-search.html Make a search with 'Schubert' and 'parisiennes' in the search fields. There is already a decent .pdf on the site, but starting from the .jpg of page 2, can you...

Re: Improving low resolution images downloaded from some librari

I don't use ImageMagic but IrfanView, but whatever software you use the resizing should be done with a Lanczos filter and, if possible, on the original color or grayscale picture.[...] I found some way to obtain a reasonable pdf size: I make the Lanczos filter with Imagemagick, but afterwards I do ...

Re: For native French speakers, I need help with music terms

We have several native French speakers here, so I thought I would see if I could get help with some terms that have been bewildering me for a few years. For the moment, I have two of them. The spelling is 'sans décomposer'. In a 6/8 time signature 'décomposer' means counting 1-2-3-4-5-6 in each mea...

Re: [FEAUG] I cant't correct the title of a piece

You need to use the "move" command on the work page. That's like renaming, except that the "old" (incorrect) title will remain in the system, leaving the "new" (correct") name as the title for the work page; and if anyone searches by the old title, the search will...

[FEAUG] I cant't correct the title of a piece

I have made a misprint with the name a new piece. I go into the page of that piece, click on edit , make the correction at the | *****WORK INFO***** |Work Title line, Save page, but when I come back to the page of the piece my misprint is still present in the large, bold-character title of the piece...

Is this a complaint?
Sorry, it was a complaint about what I obtain here with Imagemagick.

I'll try IrfanView when I am less busy with scanning and typesetting!

Does it mean the page source or the system? I uploaded the .pdf sucessfully. Thanks!

[BUG] nasty new work page

Yesterday I wanted to add a new piece to the Lefébure-Wely catagory, but the new work page looks like this: http://imslp.org/wiki/Les_Cloches_du_Monast%C3%A8re,_Op.54a_(Lef%C3%A9bure-W%C3%A9ly,_Louis_James_Alfred) instead of the usual form and I don't have access to "Add a file to this page&quo...

Re: A library can claim copyright on published holdings

The Bibliothèque nationale de France does not explicitely use the word `copyright' but when you fill the form to order a reproduction you certify it is for your private use only. So it seems if you reproduce it afterwards it is some sort of perjury.

pseudonym v. real name

What is the correct manner to deal with a composer who published his works under a pseudonym? In one case (Tellam v. Decourcelle) an Admin deleted my pseudonym category and moved the scores to the real-name category, in another case (Schubert, Camille v. Prilipp, Camille) my pseudonym category was l...

I've got the 1990 Taschenbuch. A good book, but still misses the accuracy I'm looking for.

But I'll consider asking my questions to the author in private mail. Thanks.

A library can claim copyright on published holdings

Compare http://www.bnf.fr/pages/zNavigat/frame/version_anglaise.htm?ancre=accedocu/tarif_gb.htm if the photocopies are for you only, and http://www.bnf.fr/pages/zNavigat/frame/version_anglaise.htm?ancre=accedocu/redev_gb.htm if you plan to reproduce it afterwards. http://www.bl.uk/reshelp/atyourdesk...

Re: Request for Comments: Deprecation of MUS and SIB files

I see absolutely no point in having these files. At WIMA the habit is to post the MusiXTeX or PMX source along with the .pdf of each score. This because if you are new to either typesetting software and find a score with something you haven't yet learnt how to typeset you can open the source code w...
