Sites like Levy Sheet Music, Bavarian State Library, University of North Carolina etc. offer low-resolution, color or greyscale images of sheet music instead of high-resolution B/W images. Intuitively this better-than-BW feature could be used to improve the BW rendering. The present images are ugly ...
