Re: Music Tags - in process project

Status report of sorts. Reverbnation said iTunes won't take classical music, but of course I've seen tons in there. So I asked and they said they'll change the category to "Instrumental" and iTunes'll take them. Lucky I didn't sing my Swanengesang! In reality those should be in the categor...

Re: Music Tags - in process project

Just to update how it is all coming about. I found that ReverbNation lets me buy an album release, $19.95 and up to 49 songs. I used iTunes and had all manner of tags in there, but they wanted me to upload WAV files, I could have uploaded MP3s, I've done it before. Doesn't matter! Then took out any ...

Re: Music Tags - in process project

I used iTunes 11 to do the tags, but the volumes were so low! I used Amadeus which (even in the 'trial' version) has batch processing, I 'normalized,' bringing the volumes way, up, THEN took the mp3's that Amadeus made and in iTunes set all the tags - there is no COPYRIGHT tag though! I thought I ha...

Re: Why I love IMSLP

Hi Heather, Now I'm the one who took so long! I don't have notifications on I guess, but I can't tell you how happy I am about your reply here! For about 3 years I was reading from a little Toshiba laptop at a cottage, it was sitting on a keyboard I took to the cottage. I remember those days fondly,...

Re: Can I include a "Fake Book" Satin Doll page in my book?

No. Ellington died in 1974 and will not be eligible for posting until 2025. That's without even getting into the dates of who wrote the words. Under copyright worldwide, basically. (Unless you're in Afghanistan). How about if a friend is in China, and I have a DBA with an address there? I so very a...

Re: Can I include a "Fake Book" Satin Doll page in my book?

Hi, Thanks very much to you both for answering! I suppose I could cut the score in half, but you know, unless someone can point me to the Ellington/Strayhorn estate or foundation or whomever I can ask.. I'll just remove it. Maybe I'll leave just bit, maybe 1/4 of it, for learning, but it's sort of a...

Can I include a "Fake Book" Satin Doll page in my book?

Hi and thanks googols for this opportunity! I'm writing a book of music harmony and have included a page of Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn song "Satin Doll." I've attached the page before, talking about 7th chords, then the score with chords written out as a lesson. Would this fall under F...
