Selim Palmgren, two pieces incorrectly listed.
Two new "works" were recently added to the page for Selim Palmgren; "Humoresque" ( http://imslp.org/wiki/Humoresque_(Palmgren,_Selim) ), and "Gavotte and Musette" ( http://imslp.org/wiki/Gavotte_and_Musette_(Palmgren,_Selim) ). These are not actually top level works, bu...

Re: error in one of your piano scores
On a related note, is there a code for duplicated pages?
( Op.54, No.3 "Moonlight" by Selim Palmgren has page "5" duplicated. http://imslp.org/wiki/3_Piano_Pieces,_O ... en,_Selim) )

Is this something that Lilypond can do? ( http://lilypond.org/examples.html )
If not, perhaps you could do an extension for it in place of a starting from scratch.

Re: A3 Printer Advice
I own a 1220C. It's about seven or eight years old at this point. Retail wise, I think it may have been replaced by a newer model. I've run regular paper of different weights that you would get from an office supply store, photo paper, and thin card stock, all of different sizes through it without p...

Re: Bizet
It looks like volume one of the Choudens score has already been scanned and uploaded as separate songs. All someone has to do is find volume two. I've already checked at the UC Berkeley library, with no luck. Are these the book in question? http://www.worldcat.org/title/seize-melodies-pour-chant-et...

I've been reading "Selim Palmgren, His Life and Work", Barbara Blanchard Hong's doctorate dissertation (1977 Indiana University), and just came across an interesting paragraph on page 99. "Arriving in New York, they were greeted by journalists from Musical Courier and Musical America ...

Re: Bach Courante
I'm not sure how to describe it any further. Reading multiple voices on the spot is something that comes with practice; bringing together the various durations in the notation so each voice in the measure adds up correctly. The search term you want to use when looking for online resources is "M...

Re: Bach Courante
Yes, those are dotted quarters and a quarter, but their rhythm is such that they sound like eighths. You're playing polyphonic music with multiple voices stacked on top of each other. If you look under the first dotted quarter, you'll see two rest markings, an eighth and quarter. The first dotted qu...

Re: Works with no copyright date printed on them.
The pieces were actually published in Helsinki, between 1900-1910 as best I can tell, and were composed by Selim Palmgren. Opus 2 - Tre Klaverstycken - Published by Axel E. Lindgren, Helsingfors. Plate numbers A.E.L. 838a, 838b, 838c. Opus 3 - Suite for Piano - Published by R.E.Westerlund, Helsingfo...

Works with no copyright date printed on them.
Hello, I have some works that I would like to upload, but the copies I have don't have a copyright date included with the publisher information. All I can do, is make an educated guess as to when the works were published based on library records that have matching plate numbers, comparing the plate ...

I had never heard of Henry Hadley, until reading this just before leaving the office yesterday. Imagine my surprise when the piece of music playing on the radio, when I started my drive home, was "The Ocean" by Henry Hadley! According to the radio DJ, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukr...
