Hi Aldona!
I've just finished converting the BSB images to black and white and have posted them to IMSLP.
Enjoy!

Re: Do you know what these codes are meaning?
Can you tell us exactly which PDF files posted on IMSLP gave you this error? The files posted here come from a myriad of sources and so are created using a variety of different PDF creation engines and are based on many different image types and image compression methods.
Thanks,

Re: Jeff Manookian's Very, Very Short Overture
It appears that when Kerikan uploaded the parts he used the same file name that was on the full score so it overwrote that file. The full score has now been restored and will be available once it passes copyright review. Thanks for finding this.

Re: Uploading PD-US only scores
In order to post scores to IMSLP-US you do still have to get admin access from Jonathan DePeri and use the procedure discussed in that topic. The other alternative is to get someone with such access, such as myself or Schissel, to upload the scores to IMSLP-US for you. Since you only have a few scor...

Re: Replacing scores
You're doing it right. The wording is there because it's the same function as the Upload File found in the toolbox along the left hand side menu. If someone were to use that link to upload a score it would not be associated with a work page. Once you replace your file using the procedure you've star...

Re: Collections of different composers works and anonymous w
For a collection that includes the works of more than one composer you would add the work under the Various category (found near the top of the listing for the composer category). The tag |Page Type=Collection would only be used for a collection consisting of the works of a single composer. In the c...

Re: Jumbo Frankfurters
Glad I was mistaken about the Brahms. Wish I could say the same for the Urspruch (the 52 page grayscale 20mb file as opposed to the incorrect one I mentioned above which are huge color images). Even if I force Acrobat 9.2 or Photoshop CS2 to export/open them as either 300 or 600 dpi it's obvious the...

Re: Irregular paper size
My suggestion would be to crop the images close to the music to eliminate as much of the "white space" border as possible. This way if someone wishes to print the score they can instruct their PDF reader to shrink or fit the images to the printable area based on whatever size paper they ar...

Re: Jumbo Frankfurters
Unfortunately, the quality of their scanning is very inconsistent. The situation you have with the Brahms score is very much like that I ran into with the Urspruch German Dances. It was a 62mb PDF of nearly 40 pages and yet the music pages once extracted were only 100dpi measuring about 1000 by 1300...

I added line breaks <br> and that appears to have achieved the results you were after.

Re: Mozart Symphony #34 score
I've replaced the score with the copy at bh2000.net. It will be blocked for now until it clears copyright review. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Re: PDF optimization for tablets
For the Ritter score I followed the same procedure that I've been following for a couple of years now. All the images within the PDF file are 600dpi, black and white tif files. I use Adobe Acrobat 9.2 (PDF version 1.6) to create the PDF and use CCITT G4 compression on the images. I did this score be...

Re: PDF optimization for tablets
I extracted out the first page of music from each of these and saved them as tif files. The page from the IMSLP score (courtesy of Google) has dimensions of 5168 by 7063 pixels and is 697dpi. That is a high-quality image. The page from Fastpdfscores is 721 by 1024 pixels and is detected as being 72 ...

Re: Can we use scores from Hathi Trust?
Absolutely! In fact, we currently have at least 418 work pages with scores taken from Hathi Trust. Depending on the means you use to acquire the images from Hathi Trust please be aware that there are many that contain Google logos and those logos would have to be removed before they can be posted to...
