Thanks for the information. I've posted a note to the original scanner (Piupianissimo) so hopefully he will be able to replace the file with a corrected one. For anyone wondering the work in question is Mendelssohn's 6 Gesänge, Op.34.

Re: .dat files
Hi William! I'm having a little trouble following you. As the Ritter arrangement on IMSLP is only the piano score I'm assuming that you've acquired the cello part and the file has an extension of dat. If the file came from Tarakanov I'd suggest you try renaming the extension to pdf, tiff, or zip (as...

Brahms Violin Sonata No.2 first edition at SBB
This isn't a request for the score but a request for someone who might know who to contact at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin regarding the copy posted on their website ( http://digital.staatsbibliothek-berlin.de/dms/werkansicht/?PPN=PPN684534940 ). Images 42 and 43 should be pages 6 and 7 (facing pa...

Re: Title / imslp.org main page
Hi tiorbinist! After a quick internet search I could only find two institutions with digitized copies of Harmonice Musices Odhecaton available: Museo internazionale e biblioteca della musica di Bologna (whose copy has been on IMSLP since 2009 and the quality/resolution of our copy appears to be the ...

Re: Is the image the property of a library?
Very nice work Generoso! I see the Conservatory is also willing to sell a digital copy of Toscanini's Berceuse for nearly $42 (American) despite Toscanini's works still being under copyright protection until 2028 in Europe. Somehow I doubt the Toscanini estate has granted the Conservatory the right ...

Re: Dvorak str quintet Op. 97 missing cello, viola 1 parts
The incomplete viola 1 and cello parts have now been posted. I had not posted them back in October as I thought there would have been little interest in incomplete parts. I had left the note regarding the missing pages of ThULB's copy because ThULB had not noted this on their site and after going th...

Re: How to create a Transcriptions and Arrangements tab
Hi Richard, Two items one of which is my fault for not being very clear. For the |Arranger={{LinkArr|Richard|Kram}} that needs to go down in the area after the {{#fte:imslpfile and not in the area with the arrangement headers. Also, having the same number of equal signs on each side of the header is...

Re: How to create a Transcriptions and Arrangements tab
Hi rkram53! Edit the work page on which you wish to add your own arrangement and below the existing original version add the 3-level header for arrangements and transcriptions in the format of ===Arrangements and Transcriptions===. If your arrangement is of one or more sections of the original work ...

Re: Alban Berg, Lulu - USA copyright
Nice find homerdundas! I just finished searching the same volumes for both berg and lu1u (just in case Archive.org's OCR misinterpreted lower case L as a number 1) and didn't locate a renewal either. Interestingly, in the Jan.-June, 1961 issue are two renewals for two items from Schoenberg's Gurre-L...

Re: Recording mis-attributed?
The recording was obtained from Pandora Records which released their archive of recordings under an EFF Open Audio License. The site where the audio came from is here: http://music.ibiblio.org/pub/multimedia/pandora/HOMEPAGE.html There is a readme file under the piano/O Doan folder that states the o...

I guess something about BBCode doesn't capture that close parentheses at the end of the url. Copy and paste the address below and it should take you to the page. Looks like Kalliwoda's submission is still awaiting copyright review. Cypressdome http://imslp.org/wiki/Siegfried-Idyll, WWV 103 (Wagner, ...

Once they have been reviewed for copyright and determined to be in the public domain they will be unblocked so that they can be downloaded. Within a couple of days as the server's cache is updated users will be able to browse to the composer's page and see the work page for the quartets.

Re: Music related movies?
It has been years since I've seen it but the move Deception from 1946 (synopsis here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038461/ ) is about a love triangle involving a cellist (Paul Henreid), a pianist (Bette Davis), and a composer (Claude Rains) and is noteworthy for featuring Erich Wolfgang Korngold's C...
