Re: List of imposed works at the Paris Conservatoire by instrument
I have now created a template which is linked on the Morceaux de concours page. I've added it to both linked works so you can see how it works. Adding the dates is optional. If you just use {{Mdc}} it will only display the first sentence. You may want to change the wording.

Re: List of imposed works at the Paris Conservatoire by instrument
I just made some changes to the table. It's best to devote one row to one musical work. Otherwise, when you sort by composer (or work title) the second composer for that year (or second work if by the same composer) gets lost. Also, for purposes of alphabetic sorting it is probably best to title wor...

Re: List of imposed works at the Paris Conservatoire by instrument
I have created the following page: Morceaux de concours. I jumped ahead to 1845 to give you an example of using the CSW template to link both the composer's name and the work page. I'll create a template later.

Re: List of imposed works at the Paris Conservatoire by instrument
This is a cool idea. I imagine that the main part of the page would be a sortable table with columns for year, instrument(s), composer, work title, and perhaps notes. A template could be created that would be on the Extra Information line in the work information section of each work's page linking i...

Re: Manuscript formatting templates
MssD can do n.d.[XXXX-YYYY] / n.d.[XXXX-YY]. Mss wouldn't need to support brackets as MssD does. MssAu can do n.d.(ca.XXXX-YYYY) / n.d.(ca.XXXX-YY). MssUA can do n.d.[XXXX-YYYY]. I've updated the templates' pages with examples. n.d.[ca.XXXX-YY] is contradictory. Brackets are used when the date is kn...

Re: Question about 'n.d.'/'not dated' formatting
On IMSLP we use a date inside brackets when a score is not imprinted with a date but we know from a confirmed source the year the score was issued. Circa would not be used with brackets. As for using a range of years inside brackets it would have to be a very odd case such as a series/edition consis...

Re: Jeppesen “Counterpoint” book
Does the IMSLP tool search through the Book volumes or only the Music volumes of the Catalog of Copyright Entries? I think only the latter. Chances are Counterpoint would have been registered as a book.

I've taken care of the re-direct (another example of a poorly-documented feature).

Re: Changing name
That can be done and it is best to do it before you upload too many of your own editions. Create a new "composer" using the name you want your editions to appear under on IMSLP. Once that is done we can edit the LinkEd link for the edition you have already uploaded and change the name to y...

Re: A bit confused about submitting
Sorry, I meant the xxx as a placeholder as there are a number of templates beginning with Link (LinkName, LinkCompS, LinkEd, LinkArr, etc.).

Re: Jeppesen “Counterpoint” book
Uploading to Knud Jeppesen's category is restricted because he died less than 50 years ago (1974) and, therefore, his works are still protected by copyright throughout most of the world. The 1992 Dover Publication states it is an "unabridged republication" of the 1939 English translation i...

Re: A bit confused about submitting
Unfortunately documentation on the wiki can be very spotty. A list of all templates can be found here . Some of the templates will have an explanation of their usage found on the template's page. It seems that few of the Linkxxx templates do. A primo/secondo layout would be valuable and it can be ad...

You would want to input the following to identify you as editor of the typeset:
Code: Select all
|Editor={{LinkEd|First Name|Last Name}}

Re: A bit confused about submitting
Create a "composer" category for yourself. Once created on that category page you should see a gear icon in the upper-right corner. Mouse over it and you should see an option for "You are this person (associate)." Do that. Now that you've done that go to the work page for the com...
