Strauss Vocal Scores
Hello! I notice that Richard Strauss is completely represented in his operas when it comes to full scores, but that there are no vocal scores available after Die Frau ohne Schatten. Is this a copyright issue (I do know that the full scores are only PD in Canada) or is this just not a project that ha...

Strauss Salome "Chorus"
Having coached singers in those roles, they are definitely more soloistic than choral.

French piano sets?
Hello! I was wondering if it might have the following sets of French piano works (some may only be available over the US server - sorry!). Ladmirault - 4 Esquisses (Paris: Demets 1909) Le Flem - Le chant des genêts (Paris: Nouvelle Edition Mutuelle, 1911) " " - Par les landes (Paris: Editi...

Re: Need help solving a mystery!
For certain it is not Debussy - the last piece of this group is known as "Morceau de concours" or "Assez vite et tres rhythmé": http://imslp.org/wiki/Morceau_de_concours_(Debussy,_Claude) Based of the style of piano writing I would guess Massenet. He liked chordal accompaniments ...

Re: Debussy's 'Middle era'
Orchestral - definitely "Jeux de vagues" from La Mer Vocal - The second set of Fetes Galantes is a fascinating set of songs. They sound like they belong to the later style. Choral - Trois Chansons de Villon are drastically underrated, and display Debussy's contrapuntal skill. Piano - Image...

Re: Jongen op. 57
It looks to be a reproduction of a fair copy manuscript. I don't see much other information on the score other than the copyright notice.

Re: Jongen op. 57
Actually I was able to get them interlibrary loan, and they are copyright 1957 by CeBeDeM in Brussels, so I am assuming this is a no-go for posting. Thanks!

Jongen op. 57
Does anyone have a copy to upload of Joseph Jongen's song cycle "Les fêtes rouges" op. 57? It was composed in 1918. Thanks!

Re: mozart - piano
Ah, the Mozart piano question ... I've argued with many a colleague about this! :D As for easier pieces, you might want to seek out the Music for Millions series edited by Denes Agay. The earlier levels contain some lovely Minuets, Allegrettos, etc. that are not at all difficult and are often quite ...

Re: George Szell
Not a bad composer either - his Piano Quintet and Lyric Overture are a nice blend of Brahms, Strauss, Mahler, and even a little Debussy thrown in ... comes across sounding like Bax.

Missing pages in Elgar
Hello!
I noticed that there are two pages missing from the vocal score of Elgar's "The Kingdom". The two pages are 144 and 145 (the actual page numbers, not the pdf). I just wanted to point that out. Thanks!

Wolf-Ferrari Rispetti?
Hello!
Would someone happen to have Wolf-Ferrari's two set's of Rispetti for voice and piano (op. 11 and 12)? I'm not 100% sure of their public domain status, but I'm fairly certain they are public domain in the US. Thanks so much!

Re: Greatest String Quartet
I find the Debussy quartet to be marvelously well crafted and downright beautiful! Janacek's are also wonderful pieces. Herbert Howells' "In Gloucestershire" quartet is a rarity, but quite beautiful.
