Dover also frequently (but not always) cites the scores they have reprinted in the frontmatter section. That's true. Sometimes they just say that the edition is a reprint of "an early authoritative edition". And even if they cite the original publisher, they sometimes don't state the orig...

Carolus, would it then be necessary to divide full scores and vocal scores to different pages should there be too much material cluttered into one page, which might happen to the example that you gave (Bach's cantatas)?

You've got a point regarding the tempo of the slow movement of Pathetique. I guess it's down to individual taste. But you're right in saying that too slow a tempo is a perfect remedy for insomnia.

Hi, you can try purchasing the score from Sheet Music Plus. The symphony is published by Eulenburg, Edwin F. Kalmus (Breitkopf and Haertel reprint) and Baerenreiter.

That's possible also with a WYSIWYG notation program like Finale, with the help of the free PrimoPDF program from the web. After you've installed that, you go into the notation program and "Print" to PrimoPDF instead of to your printer, and it makes a PDF of the notation file. I didn't kn...

Too bad the Variations version of the Golden Cockerel has low resolution and therefore not printable, but at least it's better than nothing.

Mine would be Wilhelm Kempff on his performances of Beethoven's sonatas and piano concertos. Can't give a definitive rating though.

Me too. The only works I've heard from Bartok are his Concerto for Orchestra and Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta.

As per the music scanning guidelines, it is recommended to scan the scores at 600dpi in black and white.

The Rite of Spring score from http://nlib.org.ua does not appear to be the Dover reprint of the Muzyka edition though:

And since Dover's edition is a reprint of the Muzyka edition, it might be possible that they used the handwritten score by Stravinsky as the source?
