Hi grdr,
I found an edition of Bergamasca composed by Gianoncelli (not the Respighi transcription) arranged for guitar -

This is the closest I've got, still searching the vast ocean that is the Internet...

I can relate to that. My local (not university) library is not that big and there is no single orchestral score available as far I can tell (maybe a couple of piano sheet music but that's it). Besides the size of the library, I have a feeling that the subjects and books that are available in the lib...

Great site on Wagner operas. Too bad there are only vocal scores and not full scores, and the vocal scores are taken from the Indiana Variations project site. Still, better than nothing.

This site is also good:

It should be noted though that most of the scores in this website was uploaded to IMSLP.

I can't answer that question with precision but I'll guess it's none or very few. But there is a difference, why should libraries sacrifice score quality for price (is in the case of printed scores that might lack quality or resolution)? However, I do think that most libraries can afford to purchase...

My colleague who plays the violin also said the same thing, and that is also why he prefers Urtext editions (eg. Henle that are free of performance directions) instead of performing editions. He feels that one would not be able to express oneself if he follows the performance directions and articula...

Speaking of which, the forums need a little houskeeping as there are some threads that are going nowhere?

Hi, if access to download Sibelius plug ins in your local library is still a problem, maybe you could look elsewhere, for example another city near you who where it is possible to do what you wanted to achieve in the first place?

No disrespect to your local librarian, but it seems they are still in the dark ages in terms of information technology. That may be the reason why they did not download the Sibelius plug in, simply because they might not know what it is in the first place. In the case, the problem seems to be lack o...

However, if these digitized versions of the autograph manuscripts are indeed considered derivative work copyrights in the EU or in the individual countries then I suppose they would have the right to charge for it. The other thing that I'm concerned will be the size of the autograph manuscript scans...

Hi, daphnis, Is the Dover reprint of the ancient airs you mentioned earlier this edition: http://store.doverpublications.com/0486452921.html Since, there are no table of contents, I don't know if all 8 pieces are included, but since you mentioned that only 6 of the 8 are included, that means we have...

I see. Unless Feldmahler says otherwise, Gutenberg is the way to go.

Hi, I assume you are looking for the piano transcription instead the full orchestral score. Like you've said, thiece piece is quite difficult to find, with no entries found in the Kalmus, Ricordi and sheetmusicplus catalogues. However, there is a score of Bergamasca by Giononcelli arranged by Gourle...
