Exporting stats per composer page

I was wondering if there is a way of exporting e.g. download times, or plays, or pageviews per work page for an entire composer's output? For example I would like to be able to see at a glance, out of all of my compositions, which ones have been downloaded the most, viewed the most, etc. Is there an...

Re: Collaboration with British Music Collection?

This is the right link - not sure why mine didn't show properly, I used the URL tag. There isn't a 100% overlap between the two, and the BMC is not a library of scores per se, though there are scores on there. It is a space to catalogue e.g. the work of a composer, famous performances of works etc, ...

Collaboration with British Music Collection?

Hello! I recently started working at Sound and Music, who host the British Music Collection . The BMC is an archive and database of British composers (born in, or based in, and we are keen to highlight the diversity of people under that umbrella) - we feature some scores, recordings, and are hoping ...

How do I create new instrument categories/tags?

I would like to create a new instrument category and tag for an instrument that is not currently represented on IMSLP, yet there are scores which feature that instrument.

How do I create these? I tried to find a guide but can't see any instructions on the website.

Thanks!

Wrong instrument / culture

I noticed this following page: https://imslp.org/wiki/Haru_no_Umi_(Michio%2C_Miyagi) is for shakuhachi and koto. It is by a Japanese composer, for Japanese instruments, but the page is wrongly tagged as "Scores featuring Chinese instruments" and "Scores featuring the xiao" (and c...

Re: I-Catalog Number

I have a few questions, after noticing "I-Catalogue Numbers" on my compositions, in the form of "INP-28" etc. a) are these added automatically, if so what are the criteria and why do some of my work pages have it and others don't? b) what is their function? If this is an arbitrar...

Re: Re-tagging "piano" works as "harpsichord"

Of course. Then, for the same reasons, would it be possible to create a new instrument category for Shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute), which is separate to that of Xiao flute (which already exists) in terms of construction, acoustics, range, repertoire, history, and geography (the only connection b...

Re: Historical regions used as nationalities

This is a good question. I guess there is some value in referring to people's "nationality" as they would have referred to it themselves at the time they lived. For example, we can talk about Roman or Byzantine Emperors, without having to clarify that actually what was then Roman Empire is...

Re-tagging "piano" works as "harpsichord"

Hi,

I was thinking perhaps it would be a good idea to re-tag and re-categorise all piano pieces as harpsichord pieces, because the piano descended from the harpsichord and so they're basically the same?

Re: Finnish Library Access!

I can't delete / edit this topic, but as this is no longer valid and four years on I keep receiving emails (!) with requests to scan stuff, I'd like to just put a note out that this is no longer the case, and I can no longer scan stuff from those libraries. :)

Folk music: Structure changes to accommodate wider range of submissions?

I have a simple (yet sophisticated :) ) topic for discussion - should there be a series of structural changes in the website to accommodate and welcome a wider range of submissions other than classical, and if so, what would be the best way to approach this? I am well aware that, technically, it is ...

Finnish Library Access!

Hey everyone! This is an offer, not a request :) I am now studying again in Helsinki, so I have access to a few libraries here in Finland. If anyone can find a score through the links below that they think will be worth scanning for IMSLP, just send me an e-mail (prits.kaka, at gmail.com) with the d...

Re: [FEAT] New time period for living composers?

I agree that being able to select a date-range would be far more useful and meaningful, and I think it wouldn't even take too much of an effort in terms of changing the system right now. And about tags, I also agree. It would be great to see something like that, but I guess that would take a much bi...

[FEAT] New time period for living composers?

When it comes to the Time Periods, though IMSLP has borrowed the date usage and terms from Wikipedia up until the 20th century, IMSLP strangely stops doing so when it comes to the 20th Century and uses an arbitrary distinction between "Early 20th Century" (1900-1945) and "Modern"...

[FEAT] Social network integration?

I was thinking, with an increase of living composers present on IMSLP it might be useful to add some social network integration, so people interested in a composer's work can get in touch with them, find out events/performances/recordings/videos. I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard in terms of c...
