Some info on numbering: 1 - 6 as is 7 - unofficialy, it's the D.729, in E major, because Schubert finished it in one line, and orchestrated about half the exposition of the first movement. There are other 2 sketches in D (two separate symphonies). 8 - the unfinished 9 - the great Why: until the disc...

Merge two pages. How to?
(I don't know if this is the place to ask this) Schubert's D.823 is displayed as two separate pieces, on two pages. One has the first movement (http://imslp.org/wiki/Divertissement%2C_D.823_%28Schubert%2C_Franz%29), the other the second and third (http://imslp.org/wiki/2_Pieces_for_Piano_Duet%2C_D.8...

The reason why I am cautious, is because that lecture was 1970? It is still copyrighted. Putting it up on that website (the Bruckner one) means that they had explicit permission to do so. Uploading it somewhere else can infringe that copyright. Well, since I can't find an answer to that that would ...

I think so, it comes from a rare and out-of-print LP, from a small label which I don't think exists anymore. Also, I trust abruckner.com wouldn't offer something illegal.Yagan Kiely wrote:Listening...
However... (Sometimes I agree with Pirate Bay... so much effort involved in Copyright), is the link legal?

Did he give this lecture before or after IMSLP's takedown? Just curious :) It was given in 1970ies :D And may I tell you that in the ABC in Australia, that is the official broadcasting network, they still use these horrible travesties of what they should use, except for fools like me, who get their...

Since this may be the appropriate UE-bashing-thread, I think people might be interested in knowing Georg Tintner's view on UE in a lecture about Bruckner's 8th Symphony. Let me say he wasn't very fond of them, here is a link (also in that page is his performance of that symphony. I recommend it). Th...

I'm not too clear what the parallel is. IMSLP is based in Canada, and do not drive cars on Austrian roads. However, whether or not you choose to import Canadian cars and drive them on Austrian roads ignoring the speed limit is your choice. Or do you mean that the manufacturing of specific types of ...

These strange symbols are how they appear here in the original letter, and I thought it was a (strange :) ) stylistical choice, so I ctrl-c ctrl-v'ed them... The IMSLP brought so much to me (the above mentioned Czerny and Dussek) and I hoped it would bring so much more (oh, and a bunch of Haydn as w...

Translation of the letter to portuguese (brazil)
I'm extremely sad the site was shut down. I really can't believe it! It was through it that I learned so much new music I always fancied on finding such as Czerny's and Dussek's sonatas, and I can't believe they are again unreachable... Anyway, I translated the letter to portuguese (Brazil)... =====...
