Need help identifying fragment from orchestral work

Hello all: I have had this tiny portion of a Classical or Romantic orchestral work in my head for some time, so I played it on piano: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1lVgFMy8aZG If that is confusing, I can also transcribe it, but I don't know if it's in the right key. I believe the tempo is correct. I believe...

Small collection of Finnish works

I encountered the following web site with works of Finnish composers which seem to be PD: http://webusers.siba.fi/~mjantune/diginuotteja.html But I would like to confirm that the editions available there are PD. Otto Kotilainen (1868-1936) - Sparven på julmorgonen (Varpunen jouluaamuna) Erkki Melart...

Re: Upcoming changes

-snip- Thank you for replying and pointing that out. I apologize - it seems I had missed the post on page 8. The only issues I have with the current setup are as follows: - Waiting period per download, though it is only 15 seconds, adds up if you need to download some parts or an entire set of spli...

Re: Upcoming changes

I have waited to post in this thread for a long time since I wanted to see if any of my questions would be answered before posting a rambling reply myself. But it seems that while they have been presented and (somewhat) discussed here, much of them remain unanswered. The interrogatory void has yet t...

Re: Upcoming changes

Would it be technically possible to restrict the waiting period to downloads, whereas it is possible to see the scores on the screen at once? It seems that the "View" button next to scores is unaffected by the change and will display a score almost immediately. However, this button eviden...

Re: [FEAT] Quick navigation using catalogue numbers

The Multi-Site Search available on the CPDL website, searching both IMSLP and CPDL, might be helpful in some cases. Max Thanks for the reply! This seems much easier to navigate than the Google search. But what I was looking for is something like a direct link from typing catalogue numbers in the IM...

[FEAT] Quick navigation using catalogue numbers

Hello:

Would it be possible to direct a user to a work page by simply typing a catalogue number into the search box, instead of having to go to google and click the first link? (for example, searching "BWV 1080" would just redirect me to the Art of Fugue page)

Thanks!

Uploading under a pseudonym

Hello:

If I were to create a category for myself using a pseudonym, could that be changed to my real name later, if I wished to do so?

Thanks,
Regards,

[FEAT] Show bitrate for lossy audio files (lower priority)

Hello: IMSLP should implement an average bitrate display for lossy audio files. (mp3, ogg, audio/video from mp4 if possible) This way, there could be low (128k) and high quality (320k/flac) versions of the same file and users could differentiate between those versions without having to add the bitra...

Re: Are any piano scores listed by difficulty?

Many pieces already have tons of categories, but perhaps can those be cleaned up/made smaller? (for example, see Mozart's Die Zauberflöte)

Since so many people have requested this, it is probably a good idea to add even a rudimentary system.

Re: IMSLP Kickstarter Project 1: Leo Ornstein's Piano Concer

If anything, the first step is getting the manuscripts on IMSLP. After that, anyone can make a typeset. Without the manuscripts or other usable sources, though, nobody can do much. Even if there isn't enough money to hire the professional engraver, engraving could be done by the community. If it com...

Re: Are any piano scores listed by difficulty?

Perhaps lists of works included in popular method book series can be put on IMSLP provided that would be legal. Then people could just follow those if they wanted to. Or someone could make their own "method" by just compiling scores from IMSLP. These ratings all just depend on how much you...

Re: Problems with music manuscript paper.

What I would like to see (if it exists - which it doesn't, to my knowledge) is a computer that contains two separate drives inside, and every time you save or alter a document, it copies each change twice, separately, to each drive. It would do this invisibly in the background, so you wouldn't have...
