Re: Concerto for 2 Harpsichords in C minor, BWV 1060 (Bach, Johann Sebastian)
Thanks for noticing that, this is an extremely weird error. It doesn't appear to be in the source for either concerto (BWV 1060 or 1062). It should be removed ASAP, as it's extremely confusing for anyone who isn't familiar with these works.

Re: Plural instrument names for German baroque music
I think something like "Violin I" is more appropriate than "Violins I" in string parts for this music. Why not "Oboes I", for example? I feel that plural part names is too prescriptive of multiple-instrument-per-part performance, thus entering into a discussional minefi...

Re: Multi scan downloader (Duben)
It hasn't been working for me with several libraries recently, BNF among them. I think BNF have changed their image storage protocols; it uses IIIF, and can actually be downloaded via a batch downloader, but it's slightly more awkward than using the multi-scan downloader.

Re: Telemann cantata texts
Sorry to resurrect a slightly old thread, but if you're still interested, the texts (by Daniel Stoppe) were printed in a textbook. The title is " Schwanengesang, bestehend aus einem poetischen Jahrgange über die Evangelien aller Sonn- und Festtage, zu welchem der Capellmeister Telemann in Hambu...

Plural instrument names for German baroque music
Is there any particular reason why every upload I make of parts pertaining to German baroque music has the instrument names changed to plural? It suggests a preference for multiple instruments per part, which I would not wish to convey, as it is likely inaccurate.

Re: Copyright status, Telemann concerto
The presence of a third ripieno violin part is odd, since there don't appear to be any other solo concerti by Telemann with that exact instrumentation. The very high tessitura of the solo part is also exceptional for Telemann, as far as I can tell. The imitation of frogs, though, is not at all unusu...

Re: Copyright status, Telemann concerto
I finished the typeset back in 2015, and while I haven't proofread it yet or written a commentary, I've uploaded the initial typeset for now. The commentary will take some time to compile due to the number of errors in the source. I still haven't resolved the discrepancies in articulation, and even ...

Vivaldi autograph scores
Internet Culturale have digitised a massive cache of Vivaldi autographs and partial autographs from Turin, covering a very large part of Vivaldi's output. Putting these on IMSLP would be great, but it would take some work. There are 27 volumes of what appear to be anywhere between 150 and 300 leaves...

Re: Caveat re NMAfs and NMArpt templates
Many NMA volumes were also published before the discovery sometime in the early 1980s (I think) of a large cache of Mozart autographs in the Biblioteka Jagiellońska in Kraków that were formerly in the Preussische Staatsbibliothek in Berlin ( Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin today). A small number of other...

CPE Bach "Kenner und Liebhaber" collections
I wrote a similar post to this on the CPE Bach page's discussion section, but it might be more useful to post it here. Currently, the six Kenner und Liebhaber collections by CPE Bach are listed in (non-original) descriptively titled pages (which, weirdly, are in German), listed with the Wq numbers. ...

Spelling guidelines?
Is there a set of guidelines as to which spelling standard is preferred, specifically US versus UK/International spelling? I have noticed that many of my contributions have had "colour" (the way I normally spell the word) changed to "color", presumably to follow US spelling conve...

Re: Quality of my scans?
There's definitely something amiss with the rating system. I've seen huge, full-colour manuscript scans with a one-star rating, and greyscale jpg scans of about 70-150dpi with five-star ratings.
It's not very logical!

Re: Copyright status, Telemann concerto
Did this mange to get completed at all? Just a scan of the manuscripts would be quite handy. It doesn't seem to be published at all. Hi Richety, sorry I'm only getting around to replying now. I did typeset the whole concerto, but I shelved it for a while because some other projects took precedence!...

Re: RSL Manuscript scans
I obtain results when I type e.g. Muzio Clementi into the search field, but obviously they are modern documents, not scans. :( Yeah, it's a slightly clunky interface - plus, the 'English' option only translates the main headings, not the entries themselves, or even the categories on the left. I use...

Re: RSL Manuscript scans
From what I can see, they can't possibly be 300dpi - there's quite a lot of jpeg artifacting. The library in question is actually the National Library of Russia, not the Russian State Library, as I said in my post yesterday. The catalogue [here] was working for me yesterday, but I can't find anythin...
