Re: Myaskovsky in 2021 (EU) - Symphony Parts Request

Typesetting programs also work for part extraction (manually is better than automatic), though take time.

Re: Copland Symphony for Organ and Orchesra

Worldcat, anyway, doesn't seem to list anything symphony-shaped published earlier than 1931 (manuscript yes, but not publication). They do list the piano concerto (the latter WC 12124312 , at Buffalo Erie County Public Library, not circulating apparently; also St Pancras and Nat Lib Israel..., in 2-...

Re: Orchestral Transcriptions?

Thanks to D.B. Miller for uploading the Hubay transcription of the Bach violin ciacona last year, btw.
Edit: is there any interest in finding, if possible, and uploading, some of Gedike's Bach arrangements besides the ones we already have?

Chart display

So someone just informed me for the first time of this display and may I please suggest replacing the composition date column with a first publication date column. Maybe I now understand why so many people continue to include the publication date as the composition date, adding a ca. to hedge, when ...

Re: Recommend deprecating Worldcat links.

Point. (Edit: and I'm a little irritated at archive.org's attitude during all this - unless their pay "library" is being seriously misrepresented, even the potentially sympathetic courts are going to shut it down really fast, I think, and perhaps the rest of the site as well - but that's o...

Re: Recommend deprecating Worldcat links.

Interestingly, if the item is at NMI for example (or perhaps at one of the other libraries one of whose catalogs is a Worldcat subcatalog), and one opens NMI's link at NMI-Worldcat (linked to from NMI Bibliotheek and doing a search...), then the additional information link, with key etc., works. Hrm.

Re: Recommend deprecating Worldcat links.

I'm absolutely fine with our sources being print citations, but not fine with them being TMB (trust me bro), to the extent that anyone cares about my opinion!!!

Re: Recommend deprecating Worldcat links.

I think it’s on the verge of dropping toward that break-even point myself, where its dead, misleading and invalid links to other libraries, its insistence one create an account (only available to institutional users, I think) before lowering the rate-limit boom, etc, make it underusable. OTOH if all...

Recommend deprecating Worldcat links.

Because Worldcat has begun putting in critically disabling (imho) limits on use, and because IMSLP and Wikipedia pages often use - I am a culprit here - Worldcat/OCLC links as evidence that things exist - I would recommend going past the Worldcat page to one of the libraries that Worldcat usually po...

Ah, audio length is now automatically generated for mp4 files. I was unaware of this.

Yes, you're right about IMSLP-US. Hopefully IMSLP-Taiwan will just need some tweaking before this feature gets back on track as well.

a request

When uploading scores or recordings such that IMSLP cannot automatically detect the filesize and/or #pages from the files (e.g. mp4 audio, or IMSLP-US or IMSLP-Asia-only files such that the only score that IMSLP sees is the 1-page blocking file) please (this is not me as an administrator- I have no ...
