They are MuseScore files - they are to be played on MuseScore - I can convert them to MusicXML but PDF is pointless.

Some people cant see the need for anything other than PDF

That's why other formats are required. And non proprietary ones too - MusicXML works quite well.

@pml - presumuably the typesetting permission problem would exist for ANY format so correcting errors would be a problem! Sensible licensing will solve that, and many other problems. I'm not sure what this site is about any more - I thought it was to provide a central repository for all music? But n...

Please dont make things more complicated than necessary..
A visual score is of no use to the blind. MusicXML is compact and can easily be turned into a whole variety of scores.
