What I mean't was the composer's workpages would be unblocked, hence "back online".

This is probably obvious to most people, but that's not how the law works to my knowledge—if you see our clearly marked red text stating "Non-PD US/Non-PD EU" and multiple statements warning people to comply with copyright law, and you are in the US or EU, and you download the file anyway, assuming that is possible (I'm not actually sure if the CA server is accessible in those countries to non-admins), you would bear the liability for doing so. Like a lot of DMCA threats this seems to be just an attempt at intimidation without much legal basis.

Just to update everyone at this moment, ALL pre-1923 based published workpages are now back open.

Thanks, but could you explain a little more? Did Prokofiev's heirs clearly accept this? Were they impressed by US law? :-)

Any pieces that were published before 1923 are accessible to users for him currently.

Well yes all workpages are back up but certain files are only going to be available in certain regions. I don't know what files will be available though in each region in the post-1923 files, this is the best we can do right now.

Well it looks like only files that are not PD in your regions are not accessible though so really only files that are PD in your region are available to download.

Just so you know, I am in the U.S. and am unable to download the Non-PD US files, so yes the new system works!
