IMSLP now has a reasonably large user population (glad to see that that count grows faster than the number of scores
)
Terrific milestone!

Of course, there are only 98 'active' users, and many of those probably wouldn't be considered active if evaluated by a human...
But yes, that's pretty neat
I think it approximately doubled within the last year.

Hello
Just to let you know, your Library is wonderful! I stumbled across it when I googled "mozart symphony 4" and you were about the fourth listing on the first page.
Thank you for all your efforts. This must have taken substantial time and dedication.
Sincerely,

Great! Now if each of those 30,000 members uploaded just one piece each that is in the public domain ....a piece that has something do with a cello... Wow that would be so great! ... Just thinking out loud!
Congratulations to all.
This is most certainly THE best site on the Web.

Well as soon as I get my scanner fixed or get a new one, I hope to become an active user! I have 3 or 4 volumes of cello sonatas to scan, as well as Christopher Simpson's The Division Violist. I have a feeling there are more users like me, that visit and enjoy the site every day, but are for some reason unable to contribute (like lack of a scanner). I believe a lot of people that use the site probably have at least one postable score that they for some reason can't upload...

Perhaps this is a stupid question but what is meant by an IMSLP user?

A registered account - someone who has signed up and who can make contributions. Non-users are people without accounts, who can't edit anything.

I must agree with everyone else's compliments. IMSLP is the most convenient music site I know of. In search of helpful resources for public domain resources, I stumbled across IMSLP, and was surprised at what I saw. I thank those who have contributed to this website!

I just registered yesterday but have been a user since last year. I'm planning to upload *.mus files, is that possible and legal above all?

I'm curious as to whether IMSLP keeps viewable stats on the number of downloads for each piece of music in its collection.
As an active (new) member who recently uploaded a scanning of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Patience", I'd be interested to see how many users either visited or downloaded the PDF. Or, for that matter, any of the other thousands of pieces in the IMSLP archive. For example, what are, at least on this site, Bach or Mozart's "greatest hits"?

That's actually pretty easy to find out. Your Patience score has been downloaded at least 98 times since you uploaded it here on May 25th. The small number you see to the right of the copyright tag is the download counter, which was only installed on October 1 of last year (so the older items have numbers downloaded since 10/1/2010).
