How do you create one entry for score and multiple parts

Post by fm42 »

Hi! I have uploaded a few scores and parts but I never figured out how to have the score and parts in one entry. I do not mean the option where all the pdfs are merged to produce on file but the option where some files are underlined in the entry header and there is usually a more option to show all the files associated with that entry.
Ant help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe every download must be a separate file. So you need a separate .pdf for the parts together, then individual pdfs for each part.

CompleteParts.pdf
Fl_I_II.pdf
....
Cb.pdf

Then upload everything together. On the AddFile/Submission page, don't merge them: use "Drag or Click to upload as separate files".

For reference, I used the Pictures At an Exhibition Page: https://imslp.org/wiki/Pictures_at_an_E ... 2C_Modest). Go to Arrangements and Transcriptions. The second Ravel orchestration (#78809) is in the format you want. To see how it's done
1. Edit the page (Top menu> Page> Edit). This is the complete work page, so

2. Scroll down to ===Arrangements and Transcriptions===, and then the Ravel orchestration:

=====For Orchestra (Ravel)=====
{{ [Information about score #741261] }}
{{ [Information about score #78809] }}

Every choice in the download list is a separate file. The first file shows up in blue next to the download arrow, and the remaining items are listed below it "→29 more". In this example, the first file, "Complete Score" is the Conductor's score, but in yours it will be all the parts bundled together in a single file, and called "Complete Parts"

4. Keep the Ravel page (or the reference page of your choice) open in Edit mode. Once you've uploaded everything together, Edit the work page, and fix any mistakes by copying the style from the reference page.

I find it easier to keep two copies of the reference page open -- one in normal mode, the second in Edit-- so I can see what the Markup looks like on the final page. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can point out any mistakes I've made here.

There doesn't seem to be a thread on multi-file submissions, active within the last five years. I'd like to use this one.

NEXT QUESTION: Is it possible to update multiple files at once?
Yesterday I uploaded a complete set of orchestral parts: https://imslp.org/wiki/Special:ReverseLookup/984025 .
I've done a full round of editing and and want to update the complete set. However, the file page is only for the first item on the list, with a different file page for each part. "Upload a new version of this file" appears to only refer to one file at a time.

I uploaded the complete set as a single submission. Can I update the same way, or do I have to update them one at a time? :( I haven't tried submitting everything to the first link; I don't want to spawn a bunch of new files that someone has to delete.

[Also, on the work page, once I expand the file list, I can't collapse it again. It remembers the expanded setting if I close the window and come back. Yikes!]

Hello,

We are wanting users to submit all part files on IMSLP as separate parts, not as merged combined part files on here. When submitting Score files, they should contain all movements in a single file if possible, same with the part files.

You can only update files under the file numbers one at a time on here.

Ok thank you. I did it one file at a time.

Just to be clear, the parts are all in separate files. At the time of submission, this can be done as a single submission, with "Drag or Click to upload as separate files". The website automatically creates a single entry in the score list, with access to each individual part from the unified entry.

That's great!

Bulk update of all items in a score is desirable for the same reasons as bulk submission of all items in a score.
