I have got a couple of etudes from the violin etude series from CDSM. After stripping logos, how can I put these entries under a category like "violin etudes" so that they can be readily found by people who look for violin exercises?

That's great, but do we have a subcategory listing all etudes / exercises for violin? My works are not really for performance, but to develop techniques.

It would be nice if IMSLP also have PD exercises for other instruments.

we have a category Single instrumental piece (no piano), but that's it. Perhaps we shuold create a new "Studies" or "etudes" Category?

This would be a great idea! We definitely need a category called "Studies". Within this category, we can add a subcategory for each instrument. Moreover, we can have subcategories for public domain music theory and musicology books.

Plenty of other categories need to be created. I believe there was an idea of applying the Library of Congress headings. (This was months back.) And, yes, a clear separation of the books from the scores would help immensely.

Should we go ahead and plan the implementation of the Library of Congress heading system in IMSLP and IMDBP?

I agree kcleung, we need to create Violin Etudes / Methods section. Last time, I added such etudes to Violin Solo section .
