Gounod Faust, IMC Score

Hi All

I have started to upload the IMC version of Gounod's Faust. It has been marked as Non-PD in the USA. I'm curious as to why this might be and would be pleased to have an explanation.

I was aware that there might be copyright issues with this score, so should have asked here first, but better late than never!

Because its considered a new edition and engraving by the publisher. New Editions are subjected to copyright protection.

OK, I thought this was for 25 years. Is this different in the US?

Its probably fine in the EU and Canada since there is no editor listed, but its been re-engraved by the publisher and is not the same at the other two engravings on the workpage, which it could be considered copyrightable for 95 years.
