In the preface, the editor writes:
This edition gives the "Urtext". Obvious printer's errors are corrected without mention. Additions of the editor are shown in brackets. Additional slurs are dotted.

Question: if I remove the editor's bracketed additions and dotted slurs, can this be added to the library? (I understand there is no copyright in corrected errors.)

Are the editor's added items original, or derived from other public domain sources like the composer's manuscript or earlier printed editions? In other words, you don't even have to get rid of the dotted slurs and bracketed additions unless they are items added by the editor for the very first time.

So, if Mr. Vester added the slurs and other items because he found them in the manuscript or in PD editions - a practice which would be entirely consistent with urtext methodology - they are likewise public domain.
