La Serenata by Braga

I have a question relating to copyright on a piece of music published by Schott.
La Serenata by G Braga (died 1907)
Transcription for cello or violin and piano by A Pollitzer (died 1900)
Schott & Co. Ltd. 48, Great Marlborough Street, London
Front cover has at the bottom; 22904 1018.L
Violin Part says at bottom Schott & Co 1018 No.1 Printed in England
Cello Part says at bottom Schott & Co 1018 No.1
Piano score says Schott & Co 1018 No.1 & 2
I believe the piece was written in about 1867.
The front sheet is largely written in French! The Schott data looks to be in a different font suggesting it has been added later. So it may be a set of French plates re-used by Schott London.
The 22904 number might be a Schott Mainz plate number (but if so why is it only on the front cover) which would be dated to about 1877.
Can anyone help?
Stephen
