Divertimento of Michael Haydn

Post by Notenschreiber »

The first edition of the Divertimento Perger No.92 of M.Haydn carries the following notice:
"Copyright 1962 by Ludwig Doblinger (Bernhard Herzmansky) K.G., Wien, München" . The
editor has only "für entsprechende Phrasierung gesorgt, Bindebögen hinzugefügt und auch die
langen Vorschläge aufgelöst".
Is this edition PD in Canada, USA and EU or must we wait until 2032?

I think the only issue is likely to be the question of copyright renewal in the US; I think (but am not certain) the EU limitation on copyright terms for urtext works will probably take care of the other domains (even if the divertimento is a first publication).
