The vocal score of this work is on archive.org, but according to the music sack the arranger Kurt Fiebig was born in 1908 and is still alive. Does anyone have a death date for this arranger? Presumably this edition of the work, first performed in 1932, is not PD if Fiebig died after 1941 (EU) or 1961 (Canada).

The complete vocal score to Der Schmied von Gent can be downloaded as follows:
https://ia700605.us.archive.org/35/item ... 00schr.pdf

It is a medium/low resolution file - but will suffice for anyone interested in studying the most fascinating opera. As of this date (June, 2015) Schreker should be PD throughout the world.

This is a good example of how archive.org is rather careless. The copyright claim is 1932 by Universal Edition. It will be under copyright in the USA until January 1, 2028 as things stand. It's also a good example of why attention must be paid to the dates of arrangers, authors of text, etc. Schreker is not PD throughout the world. Anything first published after 1922 is potentially under copyright in the USA for 95 years from publication. The life plus xx-years statutes all refer to the death date of the last surviving contributor. Fiebig's arrangement is not free in Canada or in the EU.
