New Volunteer?

Post by allegroamabile »

I am willing to volunteer to help out IMSLP. Is there a need for me?

In what function? I haven't seen you edit much, so I'm not sure you would fit as an admin. As a CR, you need to do the test, of course, and other functions (translation? We really need those - though, if you do that I might nab you for the featured scores) do exist. What were you thinking about?

Uh, I assume "CR" means "copyright reviewer"?

It helps not to use insider terminology or abbreviations with newbies.

Just sayin'.

I am knowledgeable about the backround of composers, pieces, etc. if that will get you anywhere.

Hm...
Yes it does Lyle - sorry.
Talk to P.Davydov. He is always busy with some projects, and I'm sure he could think of something that you could do (his forum name is Davydov)
Otherwise, try to be creative - and don't be afraid to just "do."

If you're interested, then a very worthwhile task would be to check the "General information" boxes at the bottom of each work page, to make sure that the details there are correct and complete.

I see Davydov has beat me to it! The "General Information" section of many, many pages is inaccurate, lacks details, etc. Making sure all the Berlioz works have Holoman catalog numbers, the Debussy works Lesure and the newer CD numbers (guess we should put Lesure in parens now!), etc. This is an area I notice when doing CR and general cleanup that is in definite need of some serious work.
