Composer Biographies?

Would it make sense to have composer biographies on this site (rather than linking to Wikipedia)?

This has been brought up occasionally in the past. I'm not sure what the advantage would be. Wikipedia already has a wealth of information, why duplicate their efforts rather than contributing to it? It's also multilingual, something that we could not hope to accomplish in the foreseeable future (most of the translations of our project pages are in a sorry state).
