Post a source file?

Hi, I am a new user. I have uploaded a score for my own arrangement of a traditional bagpipe tune (http://imslp.org/wiki/The_Comely_Tune_( ... ipe_Music)). I am using engraving software specific to bagpipe music which produces a PDF from a "source code" file which I generate. Is there any way to upload the "source file"? This would be helpful to others who may want to make changes.

Thanks,

Jon in Detroit, MI, USA

The source file may only be attached to the PDF it generated.

We don’t normally have options to include source files alongside PDF (not even MusicXML). If you go searching the forums you may find quite an amount of debate on the topic!

About your only option, if you are absolutely dead-set on sharing the source file along with the PDF output, is if you are at liberty to use a PDF editing program to attach the source to the PDF (e.g. using the pdftk package, or the usual Adobe non-freeware).

I guess there is another option for sharing the sources, at least this is what I did with my few Lilypond files here: I just copied the source onto the discussion page, leaving a notice on the work page where to find the source. See, e.g., http://imslp.org/wiki/12_Flute_Sonatas_ ... ich_II.%29
