What is the proper procedure to upload LilyPond source files? If I
try to upload a .tar file, as "file#2" on the same upload as the pdf score, the file is rejected as not
a valid type?

.zip is the only archival format accepted - see http://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP:File%20formats for more information.
