Creating a template for an edition page

I've been creating an edition page (https://imslp.org/wiki/The_Valen_Societ ... C_Fartein)) using this guide:

I would like to create a template for the edition's publisher field, but am unsure how.
It would be awesome, if someone can explain it, or point me to a guide.

I have created a template at Template:ValenSociety. I'll break down how I created it below:

Lines 1 and 8, <includeonly> mean that the text and templates only appear on pages which contain the template (called transclusion), not the template page itself. This is predominantly an internal cataloguing reason which prevents template pages from appearing on automatically-generated publisher lists and category pages.

Line 2 links to the edition page.
Line 3 displays the volume number
Line 4 displays the page-range information, if provided; otherwise, it does not display.
Line 5 is a line break.
Line 6 displays all the publication information. Details of how this template works can be found here. There are fields which display publication year and plate number (I have added this field to your template description on the edition page).
Line 7 controls internal metadata.
Lines 9 and 11, <noinclude> mean that only the template itself is added to the category of publication templates, not all the works on which it is transcluded.

As far as I am aware, there is no guide to creating edition templates, so I hope the above explanation will be sufficient!
