How reliable, about, are they? How many hits would one say are from "bots"?
I find it mildly odd that something I uploaded (from LoC) on the middle of the 28th has already received 135 downloads (after a cache purge) (more than most files I upload receive in a year or in two years)...

The bots must have enjoyed it. They want more (they always want more, of course).
Actually, there are some bizarre things if you look at the 'popular files' list, like a couple of pieces for piano three hands. I had no idea there were that many three-handed pianists out there.

there are some differences that suggest that the bots are getting smart- they pay less attention to files that people would download less often, like color covers, so that (assuming that a big part of the unusually high download numbers for files one would have assumed would be almost untouched - admittedly, they were just on the main page, but still) the main music gets a lot more hits while the covers or similar files get usually single-digits each. Used to do amateur programming so know good programming when I see the results
